Lamar Construction Company is looking for energetic, hard working and motivated team players for the following positions:
- Unload, carry and stack building materials and place tools and equipment in position.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, barricades and warning lights.
- Knowledge and experience working with latex, urethane, silicones, epoxy and security sealants FDA and USDA approved sealants.
- Utilizing a wide variety of standard colors and custom color matching to substrates on site.
- Caulks and works on Pre-Cast panels.
- Caulking and joint sealants – Interior and Exterior Caulking; Waterproofing.
- Use of wheelbarrow to remove rubble and garbage from building/ project sites.
- Adapt to various heights and elevations – ground and in air.
- Able to work in adverse weather conditions – heat, rain, snow and wind.
- Able to work alone or as a team member.
- Operate power construction equipment.
- Ability to understand and read drawings.
- Build or repair structures in construction setting.
- Familiar with use of hand or power tools.
- Adhere to and understand Company/ State/ Federal rules, policies and/or regulations.
- Daily general maintenance of construction equipment and/ or machinery.
- Use basic carpentry techniques.
Position Requirements:
- Make decisions and use negotiation techniques.
- Interpret drawings for architecture, construction, or engineering projects.
- Knowledge of construction industry codes and ability to recognize codes on blue prints.
- Knowledge of steel rigging and setting.
- Must be able to give crane signals.
- Consult with managerial or supervisory personnel.
- Use long or short-term production planning techniques.
- Organize, plan and delegate the daily work duties of crew.
- Set priorities for construction workers and understand construction specifications and timeline.
- Ensure work is being completed in a timely manner.
- Evaluate new construction industry practices.
- Daily maintenance checks of construction equipment and/ or machinery.
- Perform daily safety inspections prior to the start of the workday and during the workday to determine specification compliance.
- Adhere to and ensure work performed on projects is meeting the Company’s highest standard.
- Strong understanding of Company/ State/ Federal rules, policies and/or regulations.
- Oversee execution and adhere to and Company/ State/ Federal rules, policies regulations and/or requirements.
- Recommend action to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for ensuring the proper material and adequate amounts are available to crew on jobsite each day.
- Adapt to various heights and elevations – ground and in air.
- Able to work in adverse weather conditions – heat, rain, snow and wind.
- Use knowledge for investigative techniques and resolve internal and external concerns/ complaints
- Day to day interaction with outside vendors, i.e. building manufacturer, equipment rental retailers, customers.
- Must be willing to travel

- Load transport vehicles, ensuring loads are evenly and securely placed.
- Must be willing to travel

Skills/Qualifications: Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals; to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner; to work in a fast-paced environment; and must possess a willingness to learn and rapidly apply new skills.
